The Dell Streak goes on pre-order today, and it was an interesting idea when it was released in Europe 2 months ago. It has a 5 inch screen, a 5megapixel camera and is basically a cross between a smartphone and a small tablet. The only problem is that it comes with Android 1.6 while other phones have the newer Android 2.1 (some with 2.2) and the screen resolution is only 480×800 which is less than the Droid X.
The 5 inch screen is too large to hold up to your head to make calls with, and the 5 inch screen is too small to replace the likes of an iPad. Oh, and the price at $300 is more expensive than both the DroidX and the iPhone 4. Basically the Streak tries to bridge a smartphone with a large screen and a tablet pc, but it just doesn’t work out too well. If they don’t put in some major price cuts or incentives of some kind the Streak may not make it through the year.

IT´S NOT THAT BAD ONCE UPDATED TO FROYO 2.2. I LIKE THE SIZE OF THE SCREEN
IT HAS GOOD PACKAGE, BIT EXPENSIVE. 7.5/10
1. You obviously don’t have a Streak for daily use, so you have no idea what the device is really like.
2. Just because it runs Android 1.6 doesn’t make the phone useless.
3. What phone would you say that we (general public) NEED? After all, isn’t that word in the title of your so-called “review”?
